How PrintWatch collects, uses, and protects your data.
Last updated: 6 July 2026
1. Data controller
PrintWatch ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data processed through PrintWatch at https://printwatch.space.

2. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data when you use our website, dashboard, APIs, monitoring agent, and optional LAN Bridge desktop application.
It applies to users in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and other regions. Where local law grants additional rights (e.g. CCPA/CPRA in California), we honour applicable requirements.
3. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process:
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, profile image (OAuth), role, subscription plan
- Authentication data: session identifiers, OAuth provider IDs, email verification tokens
- Printer configuration: printer name, model, IP address, LAN access code, serial number, ports, detection settings
- Operational telemetry: print status, temperatures, progress, AI confidence, alerts, monitoring hours used
- Camera data: live frames or snapshots from your printer camera, processed by our AI agent for failure detection; frames may be briefly cached in memory for streaming
- Bambu cloud tokens: if you link Bambu Lab, we store access/refresh tokens and region to sync printers on your behalf
- API tokens: hashed agent and bridge tokens (we store only secure hashes, not plaintext secrets)
- Payment data: order reference, plan, amount, currency, payment status; card data is handled by WayForPay, not stored on our servers
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, request logs, error reports
- Communications: messages you send via contact forms or support email
4. Sources of data
We collect data directly from you (registration, dashboard settings), automatically when you use the Service (telemetry, logs), from your printers/bridge/agent, from Bambu Lab if you connect cloud sync, and from payment/OAuth providers when you use those features.
5. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service (contract): account management, printer monitoring, AI detection, alerts, billing
- Security & fraud prevention (legitimate interests / legal obligation): authentication, abuse detection, audit logs
- Payment processing (contract / legal obligation): invoicing and transaction records
- Service improvement (legitimate interests): reliability, debugging, aggregated usage statistics without identifying you where possible
- Legal compliance (legal obligation): tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests
- Marketing (consent, where required): only if you opt in to newsletters; not required to use the Service
6. AI and camera processing
Our AI analyses printer camera images to detect likely print failures. This is automated processing that may trigger printer commands or notifications.
We do not use camera footage to identify natural persons. Processing targets print-quality events, not biometric identification.
You may stop monitoring at any time by disabling monitoring on a printer or disconnecting the bridge/agent.
8. Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above:
- Account data: for the life of your account and up to 30 days after deletion (backup purge), unless longer retention is required by law
- Payment records: as required by tax and accounting law (typically 5–7 years depending on jurisdiction)
- Telemetry & alerts: while your account is active; printer records deleted when you remove a printer or delete your account
- Server logs: generally up to 90 days unless needed for security investigations
- Camera frames: processed in near real time; not stored long-term except transient caching for live streaming
9. Security
We implement technical and organisational measures including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords and API tokens, access controls, and least-privilege administration.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Report suspected incidents to [email protected].
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
To exercise rights, email [email protected]. We respond within one month as required by GDPR.

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect children's data. Contact us to request deletion if you believe a child provided data.
13. Changes
